Design 21 has redesigned its site to include a smarter web 2.0 user experience. Users (designers, artists, etc.) can now upload a full profile and small portfolio, start a blog and engage with the design community. The network does great work promoting important social issues through responsible design, backed by UNESCO and sponsored by Felissimo New York. Check out the site here.

Nora the Piano Artist

This cat can really play. I think it’s more than just sounds. She really listens and plays along!

The Humane Society of United States launched an exceptional website showing how cities around the US compare in animal and humane issues. New York ranked 12 out of 25, but San Francisco is number 1. The site is wonderfully interactive and robust with info on these cities and provide resources on how we can take action and simply become more informed about these important issues. Visit site

If there is one thing to do in Las Vegas, it’s seeing Cirque Du Soleil’s “O” water performance at the Bellagio. It is truly the most beautiful, emotive, and profound experience one can get. If you can’t see the show, experience the album.

Each March, the Canadians kill a required quote of typically over 280,000 baby harp seals for their white fur. They claim that it is a tradition and helps boosts the regional economy but giving the workers something to do. What they do is cruel, unthinkable and heartless to these poor creatures. Seal parents watch their young being shot, bashed, ripped apart while still conscious in agony while blood paints the snow. This occurs for 2 whole weeks and the world is crying out. Please go to IFAW.org to learn more or join the petition here. Thanks to everyone who cares.

Wallpapers

February 26, 2007

Neisha Crosland designs wallpapers that are not overly trendy but appropriate for the times. I love it becaue it’s bold yet easy on the eyes, not like those wallpapers of the moment that doesn’t outlive the season.

From a colleague of mine—A brilliant idea for healthy sweet treats, cookies and brownies made with real tea. Wonderful packaging and the treats are a work of art. Check out Amainyc.com
